Here's the kick in the guts. If an aged pensioner does a few days work, they are punished, and have a percentage of their pension cut. Not Rudd. Not the politicians.

Two things about the school protests:

First, if we were caught in uniform wagging school and shouting curse words at the camera or threatening politicians - we'd be expelled. End of story. That behaviour was wholly unacceptable. Heck, we got detention if we didn't tip our hats to the elderly.

Second, it seems to me that plenty of these children are both mentally unstable and just wanted the opportunity to act out, swearing and carrying on.

There's a vibe going around where hard work and winning academically has been replaced with a race to the bottom of social depravity and political activism.

These children feel important now, because adult activists make them feel that way. But without skills and a sensible temperament, these kids will spend their lives on the dole and make no difference to the world.

So much of what activists call 'white privilege' is simply generations upon generations of people with manners and high cultural standards.

Each individual choice to be a good, hardworking, law-abiding, self-reliant, polite citizen builds a high-trust society of safety and wealth.

Whereas each choice to loot a store, join a street beat-up, trash an air bnb, have a machete fight, graffiti the area, talk like the gutter, treat women like objects, or normalise children to crime and violence creates large-scale perceptions of a dangerous, dysfunctional culture that lacks 'privilege'.

So is it privilege, or simply collective character?
