1. Zero tariffs on American goods

India's trade deals with the UK, New Zealand and the EU also offer tariff concessions on selected products from both sides. Lower or zero tariffs boost trade, expand consumer choice and open new markets. THAT'S HOW TRADE DEAL WORKS.

2. $500 billion in US purchases

India imported $53.45 billion worth of US goods in FY 2025-26. The target of $500 billion over five years means an average of $100 billion annually. With expanding trade and investment, this reflects India's growing purchasing power, economic ambitions and global reach. A stronger India can do business on a much bigger scale.

3. Russian oil

India has NOT stopped buying Russian oil. In September 2026, it imported around 1.8 million barrels per day from Russia.
