Someone paid your rent. Not a loan. Not a promise. They paid it. Gave you 12 months of peace, safety, dignity and all you said was “thanks”? Just that?

And now people are defending it? Saying, “Should she write an epistle?” Yes. Write it. Pour your soul into it. That’s not just rent, that’s relief, that’s stability, that’s a blessing most people pray for.

This wasn’t a salary. You didn’t clock in. You didn’t hustle for it. Someone stepped in and changed your reality and you think a one-word reply is enough?

Gratitude should match the weight of the gift. At the very least, say, “Thank you so much. You didn’t have to, but you did. And I’ll never forget it.” That’s the least.
