Despite what the Chicago Tribune tries to “spin” the SAFE-T Act and pretrial release is endangering the lives of every citizen of Illinois
Darren Bailey as well as EVERY REPUBLICAN running for office in Illinois should make the repeal of the SAFE-T Act the cornerstone of their campaigns
Illinoisans should demand the same and here’s why ……
Florida Chamber President and CEO Mark Wilson said “all of Illinois is in a death spiral” under Gov. JB Pritzker’s leadership, pointing to high taxes and crime as residents and businesses continue to leave the state.
@MissinRoyko Yes, and why did he first deny using the medication when asked about it? Why not simply say then that he's a diabetic? Instead, he told reporters he had a lost the weight through vigorous exercise. Why does he have such difficulty speaking the truth?
A new Hispanic Heritage Month poll commissioned by the Urban Center finds Mayor Brandon Johnson deeply underwater among Chicago Latino voters.
Nearly 70% — 69.8% — view Johnson unfavorably, while just 21.8% have a favorable opinion of him.
The poll was conducted by M3 Strategies and has a margin of error of +/- 5.1%.
JB Pritzker’s Illinois.
154% increase in gas taxes.
160% increase in diesel taxes
50% increase in vehicle registration fees
57% increase in passenger tolls
30% increase in commercial tolls
Can’t afford a hedge trimmer and 10 minutes of labor to keep roads safe.
While JB Pritzker teases a presidential run and visits key swing states across the country — including New Mexico — one thing hasn’t changed:
He’s still stuck at just 2% in national polling of potential Democratic presidential candidates.
Illinois SNAP enrollment just hit a 13-year low thanks to new federal work requirements for able-bodied adults.
But state lawmakers are now diverting $70 million in state tax dollars to deliver $400 checks to those who lost benefits for failing to meet the federal government's work rules.
Worse, state bureaucrats just hit a 14.67% payment error rate that could soon trigger a $700 million annual penalty on state taxpayers.

Hours after both delivered tepid statements in response to Chicago’s nation-leading 41st mass shooting of 2026, Mayor Johnson and Gov. JB Pritzker swiftly returned to politics with the mayor releasing a statement revealing a “special announcement” and Pritzker pouring drinks for supporters at a Chicago bar.
Johnson and Pritzker’s response to another grisly weekend in Chicago shows both men have Ph.Ds. in tone deafness.
🚨IL GOP Chair Bob Grogan preaches “party unity” and says Republicans “can’t purge our way to 51%.”
But his close friend and ally — former IL GOP leader Jim Durkin just went on CBS Chicago and torched both Donald Trump and Darren Bailey:
“There’s really no election in November… Darren Bailey, this is a foolish campaign… He adds nothing to the equation for Republicans… We’ve lost more Republicans because of people like Darren Bailey and Donald Trump in Illinois.”
So will Grogan condemn Durkin and separate himself from these attacks?
Mayor Johnson today said the talents he developed as a middle school teacher — ability to multitask and managing others' unpredictable impulses — are skillsets he brought to the mayor's office.
It's well known throughout CPS Johnson was a lousy teacher.

Speaker Chris Welch is in damage-control mode as he tries to contain the fallout from the sexual harassment scandal engulfing House Democrats.
Welch claims the former staffer who accused former State Rep. Harry Benton of sexual harassment wanted to wait until she had left her job before his office took action. The former staffer disputes that account, saying it is false.
A Cook County watchdog concluded that Board of Review Commissioner Samantha Steele offered her March primary opponent a job in exchange for dropping out of the race, then made "blatantly false statements" about the incident.
Her opponent refused the offer, stayed in the race, and defeated Steele by a 62% to 38% margin.
Her punishment? Retaking ethics training.
