@streathamdave@supertanskiii He failed to comprehend what was said even after it was explained to him by the interviewer. He just kept digging a bigger hole. I imagine Will Self couldn’t comprehend how someone so stupid was an MP
@cyclingweekly People offend at a roughly proportional rate whatever vehicle they use. There is no collective responsibility based on what vehicle you use and as cyclists we need to campaign against these prejudices. As vulnerable road users we are at risk of injury due to these prejudices.
@LeoMars75 Many of the 1% wealthiest people keep their money offshore. If you are wealthy it’s cost effective to make use of tax avoidance schemes. It doesn’t take much to end up with a marginal rate below with basic rate tax rates.
@BathEcho There was an election where people could vote on the manifestos. It’s important to listen to people impacted to ensure everything has been considered and any mitigations considered. But we cannot expect to overturn the democratic process.
If someone invented a device that used no fuel, propelled you at 20 mph, improved your health, helped you lose weight, made you live longer, saved you money and got you to work faster they would surely be a celebrity, a Nobel Prize winner and multi-millionaire...
@London_Cycling@GreenJennyJones Wasn’t there a bill in the EU to ensure all new vehicles don’t have blind spots? Fairly sure it got vetoed by the UK so maybe it will resurface again and get passed.
@Bikery1966@BespokeEB Lots of people driving clearly struggle to anticipate 20 seconds into the future. They drive almost entirely in a reactive subconscious way to immediate stimulus without any planning. They admit as much and think it’s acceptable.
This video camera study showed that less than 5% of people on bikes broke traffic laws while riding, yet 66% of people did so when driving. And if you REALLY want even MORE bike-riders to obey laws, build more protected bike infrastructure. Via @carltonreid
@PlainoldDTwaine@BathEcho The government scrapped the limits on student numbers for universities and building student accommodation is much more tax efficient and profitable for investors. Council planning departments can only apply planning legislation. So without a change in the law nothing will change.
@bob_combedown@quietMissP@bathnes Apart from the total disregard of other people’s access and safety . Pedestrian use hasn’t broken those pavement slabs. We all end up paying for the Government’s failure to address this.
@ianwalker The biggest issue I have with PCs is I am not in charge of focus. I start typing, something random pops up and I end up with half a word in what I was working on and half on the new pop-up. I want to be in charge especially if I am typing.
Interesting video on why capitalism has failed to deliver for recent generations of working people.

@Kavvasakiman I have given you the benefit of doubt as you obviously have not studied any maths or driven a motor vehicle. So suspect you are a child. You need to ask your teachers to explain it further if you are still struggling to understand.
@Kavvasakiman V = Velocity is measured against a time constant. E.g. metres per second. While velocity is a constant in the equation the other values are squared hence the increasing losses of efficiency at high speeds.
@Kavvasakiman It does because the increase in fuel consumption is by the power of 3 for air resistance and Friction by the power of 2 so each incremental increase in speed costs an increasing amount of fuel. I suspect now you are just pretending to be dumb.
@Kavvasakiman It’s not my theory it’s an equation used by amongst others engineers who make cars and recommend you drive between 35-50 mph depending on vehicle for highest fuel efficiency. I suggest you take it up with the motor manufacturers.
@BladeoftheS There is no new money, it’s just sleight of hand redistribution of wealth to the rich. If we print more money prices go up, only those who get more money than the inflation it causes will win. As ever the already wealthy win and the workers lose.
@Kavvasakiman@toadmeister You only have to use Google if you want to learn about the physics involved in car engineering. Don’t take it from me do some research.
@Kavvasakiman@toadmeister road load power = av + bv² + cv³
Note the power of 3 which is air resistance, b is friction of the engine which increases by the power of 2 and av is rolling resistance which is linear. Your theory assumes a linear relationship.
