Lest anyone was naive enough to have taken seriously the post below claiming the stadium will be owned & financed by Bath Rugby, the officially stated (refusal of) response of Bath Rugby to those questions is at the bottom of this slide*.

@watershipcujo@landatthebottom And of course, when the new stadium's built the Uni won't even be able to use all their own car parking on Open Days when there's an event on the Rec the same day, & the campus buses will be full of Rec visitors.
It must be so, the Rec S106 Agreement says so.
More chaos looms...
"If I pretend I only arrived at 3pm I can stay on the Rec for a couple of pints after the match & nobody will know I'm abusing the Blue Badge rules 🤥🤥🤥. And Bath Rugby & @BATHNESHighways will just 🙈🙉🙊"
The sport that likes to pretend to be better than soccer is just as racist. In fact even worse when you take into account the superiority complex & extent of denial.
What kind of person uses DDay as his bigotry & racism platform?

Sadly, the incident I experienced with the RFU Council Member, Mr Matt Smith shows that sexism and misogyny still exist in our game.
I hope me speaking about it will lead to change. We must stamp it out and call it out when we witness it.
And just to be clear, Mr Matt Smith, I have attached a couple of images to highlight exactly what I know about rugby!

@bob_combedown Why don't they just knock it down and build a tower block? That would perfectly complement the tacky concrete & glass monstrosity to be built on the other side of the river (with half the trees removed to make it look even worse).
Journalist completely misrepresents the refurbishment of the Riverside path - a public right of way - as "Bath Rugby's approved plans".
Shocking incompetence or media poodle? You decide...

Imagine complaining about cycle parking provision at multiple local premises when you had nothing at all to say about the pathetically weak failure of B&NES to insist Bath Rugby provide anywhere near the level of cycle parking planning policy requires for an 18k venue.
Cognitive dissonance on steroids! If he had turned round 180 degrees after he'd taken this photo he'd have literally been looking at the beautiful trees along the river, several of which are to be felled to build a booze warehouse on the Rec. Funny he never mentions that.
@richardwyatt Why on earth would anybody care what Northumberland Passage looks like, now that just around the corner the Bath Establishment is to destroy some of Bath's most valuable iconic views which are the real tourist magnet?
Incredible in 2026 to see governing bodies of contact sports still protesting there's no evidence of serious health consequences of impacts to the head when their own records say otherwise.

Vince was asked at a Bath Uni talk 4 yrs ago about plastic pitches: nothing to say on billions of bits of plastic they spew into the environment. Since then ecoUni built more 3G pitches, & Bath Rugby sneaked in a hybrid pitch by a river w/o planning consent. #SportsWashing rules
Britain creates a shed load of plastic waste every year - and recycles way too little. That’s what this article says. Nearly 2 billion bits of plastic waste a year…..mostly food packaging. We desperately need better food packaging, of the type in the news last week - made from food itself and therefore easily compostable - food packaging that can be binned with food waste. That would solve another problem, food packaging ‘contaminated’ with food at the moment can't be recycled.
One bin for it all would be fabulous.

@TheRoadPadrone Not holding my breath. Since the last capacity increase 10 yrs ago they said all would be sorted in a permanent appln. Then in the permanent appln all ignored. Intervening catastrophic incidents at Manchester arena, Liverpool parade & many other ramming incidents notwithstanding.
The location where a pedestrian was recently knocked down & suffered head injuries. Full of mingling pedestrians & impatient vehicle drivers.
But who cares if pedestrians are run over as long as nobody has to fund any meaningful matchday safety measures.
@TheRoadPadrone A rugby fan opines: "Local people & tourists should just feel imprisoned in their homes & hotels on matchdays."
Their entitlement is beyond appalling 🤡
Can any competent emergency planner seriously think it's safe to allow uncontrolled double-yellow-line parking every matchday on the already excessively narrow one-&-only emergency vehicle access to the Weir & nearby premises?
