Casey Gould went into cardiac arrest while giving birth to her son, Archer.

She was diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy—a rare pregnancy related heart failure.

She was placed on life support and a medically induced coma.

UPDATE: An Amtrak construction crew accidentally cut into a fiber line in New Jersey which caused a telecom outage and forced FAA to pause flights in the Northeast.

Right now:
- Flights are resuming at LGA and PHL
- Flights into EWR, JFK, and Teterboro Airport are paused

This incident underscores the need for additional funding to modernize aging infrastructure and prevent disruptions like this in the future.

NEW: CBP confirms to @FoxNews that they found & arrested 13 Chinese illegal aliens on a human smuggling boat near Key Largo, FL, first detected by CBP aircraft on patrol. There were 22 illegal aliens on the boat in total, including 8 Hondurans and one Dominican. The human smuggler was also arrested. The arrests were made near Angelfish Creek.

It is rare to see Chinese nationals trying to get into the US through this maritime smuggling route typically used for Haitians, Cubans, and Dominicans.

CBP statement to FOX:

🚨BREAKING: Fremont, Nebraska rejected a 22-year-old volunteer firefighter for a paid job because he was homeschooled.

Andrew Coates already runs into burning buildings for Cedar Bluffs Fire. He is a state-licensed EMT. He wanted to get paid to do the work he already does for free.

The job ad said “graduation from high school.” He has a diploma. The city said homeschool is unaccredited in Nebraska and turned him down in April.

After that, Fremont added the word “accredited” to the description.

His own chief, Chris Lichtenberg: “I feel the city of Fremont is really missing out here… because of his homeschooling, you guys are discriminating against him.”

Dozens of homeschool families showed up. The Civil Service Commission said city policy is not their job.

When your house is on fire, you will not ask the man carrying your kids out where he sat for algebra.

In Ireland in 1847 the starving boiled nettles and scraped seaweed off the rocks.

Nettle tea is now a detox, and sea moss gel has a celebrity following.

In Finland in 1867 the starving ground pine bark into their bread.

Pine bark flour is now sold in Finnish health shops.

In Germany in the winter of 1916 the starving drank coffee made of roasted chicory and acorns.

Chicory root coffee is now sold as a prebiotic.

In Leningrad in 1941 the starving ate bread cut with wood cellulose, because there was no flour.

Wood cellulose is now added to bread on purpose and listed as fibre.

In China in 1960 the Party told the starving to grow chlorella, a pond algae, in vats of urine.

Chlorella is now a superfood tablet.

In North Korea in the 1990s the starving ate grass.

Wheatgrass is now sold by the shot.

Every item on that list was eaten because the animals were gone.

A botanist at Purdue has catalogued the world's famine foods. The list runs past 1,200 species, and every one is a plant.

Not one of those peoples kept the menu when the hunger ended. The day they could afford an animal again, they bought one.

The wellness aisle is a famine menu with a better designer.
