I'm halfway through the new season of Adi Shankar's DMC and it's occurred to me that it faithfully adapts more elements from the second game than any other game in the series because it's the easiest game to get through...
I was there for Homestuck. I was there in the Tumblr days of Seven Universe and Gravity Falls. I was there for the formative years of online fandoms all across the internet.
The TADC fandom is one of the most unruly, childish fandoms I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. Instead of being happy that a small indie studio get's a chance at a theatrical release, y'all want to boycott it because you want it to "stay niche" and don't want the medium to mature and grow, and push bigger studios like Disney and Pixar out of the spotlight for once.
Despite what it might seem like on the internet, Glitch is small peanuts compared to those giants. The rest of the world outside of the internet bubble has NO IDEA what TADC even is, so these theatres need to be convinced that showing it will be worth it for them.
On top of that, despite GLITCH being an Australian company; TADC is an American production. Of COURSE they're going to focus on where the show originated and where it's most popular for their initial theatrical release; but if you want to see it closer to you, YOU NEED TO REACH OUT AND ASK FOR IT.
GLITCH can't do it all, THEY'RE INDIE. IT'S US. WE'RE THE DISTRIBUTORS. It's just like Iron Lung all over again, but GLITCH is getting shit on instead of supported like Iron Lung was.
I grew up in a time where I had to dodge spoilers for limited releases, and I managed to do it. Avoiding spoilers is surprisingly easy, you're just too entitled.
We should absolutely be supporting an indie studio when they make moves like this. It's unheard of for something like this to be happening, and these projects are backed by real people with real passions. GLITCH doesn't make their money from YouTube views, they make it on merch and MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, they'll make a LITTLE revenue from these movie releases, but we have to support them if we want to see more projects like Iron Lung and TADC moving into the big screens.
People are upset that Fortnite will issue refunds over a dance which was speculated by fans to have nazi connotations following Peacemaker S2E6, but will not refund cosmetics with music by a pedophile and murderer, and will make new cosmetics with the music of a nazi.
That is incorrect. Kanye West, a self-proclaimed nazi, just recently had an emote featuring his music. There are multiple cosmetics featuring d4vd's music, and Fortnite stayed silent after officials revealed that the dead body in his car was a minor he groomed.
@NightKilIing@JuanEditzs A lot, if not all, of d4vd's music was re-contextualized after it came out that he was dating a 13-14 year old girl whose dismembered body was found in a car registered to him. While you can separate art from artist, it's impossible to do so with d4vd.
@Putra060589 @supermanMOT Krypto was confirmed male in the film. Moreover, it isn't uncommon for male characters to be played by female actors (Timmy Turner, Bobby Hill, Bart Simpson, etc.).
@TFAdvanced125 And all three films had Eric Pearson on the writing team. Like imagine writing three solid films that released within a year only for each on to flop financially
@triggerman1976@Katapetasma2@tompawnbadil If the modern American church is going to shun people and make them suffer for being different, much like the high priests in Jerusalem during Jesus' time, then I shall extend my hand and love them, because that's what Jesus would do.
@triggerman1976@Katapetasma2@tompawnbadil Part of loving God is by caring for my neighbors. Jesus called us to love our neighbors as He loved us (John 15:12-13). Moreover, He famously sat with sinners and turned the tables of the priests.
@triggerman1976@Katapetasma2@tompawnbadil Jesus taught us that the greatest commandments are to love the Lord your God in all you think, feel, and do and to love your neighbors as yourself. He said there is no laws against such commandments (Mt22:37-40). That takes priority over treating people with hatred and fear.
@TheCartoonBase@TFHypeGuy I'm disappointed BUT the nominees for Best Animated Feature this year are all good films so it's fine. Not like a repeat of 2017 where Boss Baby was picked over other good films
