I presided over the commissioning of 498 Officer Cadets of Intake 19/25 Long at the UPDF Basic Military Training School, Kaweweta. These young patriots join an army of warriors and heroes founded on patriotism, Pan Africanism, discipline, professionalism, and resilience.

I commend the CDF and leadership of the UPDF for maintaining this tradition of excellence. The 177km Salim Saleh trek they undertook honours our heroic past. I am also glad to see cooperation with our African brothers from Tanzania, Somalia, Mali and the Central African Republic, proof that Africa can manage her own affairs.
