Went walking around Monchy-le-Preux today. The 37th Division Memorial in Monchy is definitely one of our favourites. The only one we know of sculptedby a woman. #ww1#arras
Private F Brown of the Cheshires and Joseph Troesch, a German artilleryman, died in the same week in Operation Georgette and are buried side by side in Lancashire Cttage Cemetery.

Guillemont Road cemetery this evening. It was a bright low sun and blue skies at the end of a bitterly cold day. Winters out here must have been a real trial during WW1.
Going to the Menin Gate this evening. First time in two years. Laying a wreath in memory of the men of the Monmouthshire Regiment. @newport@Monmouthshire@N_YPress
One of the panels by Charles Sergeant Jagger on the Royal Artillery Memorial in London. They are true masterpieces. Sadly, they are becoming eroded away by the weather and pollution. They deserve to be preserved.
