Front row Edward Turnell and Harry Bamford both killed WW1. Turnell had also played for Southport and Bamford for Southampton

Frank ‘Tabby’ Booth played over 100 senior games for City and also spent time at Bury, Stockport County, Clyde and Glossop, and played for England once. He’s buried in Denton Cemetery.
Ex Manchester City footballer Frank Booth died 104 years ago today. The outside-left, who played for a number of other clubs, served with the RGA during the War but was diagnosed with a cardiac tumour after returning home. He died at Manchester Royal Infirmary on 22 June 1919.

Former Stockport County and Glossop footballer Chris Porter was killed in action at Gallipoli on this day 108 years ago. The Stockport-born amateur was serving with the 1/6th Manchesters when he died on 4 June 1915 and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial.

Former Manchester City, Partick Thistle, St Mirren and Glossop footballer Pte Tom Callaghan was killed by shellfire during a trench raid 106 years ago today. Serving with 1/20th London Regiment when he died, Callaghan is buried at Chester Farm Cemetery near Ypres.
