@TeachHoopsBBall I agree on anytime per game. If you play more, shoot more you should have more. I like per 36 when translated to full game minutes to level the evaluation

40+ boys options in Wisconsin
It would be interesting to know the average tenure of a Wisconsin high school coach. What factors affect those changes? Does it matter urban vs suburban vs rural?
🤔
The toughest question in high school basketball:
Are you the kind of teammate people want to go to war with?
It's not about your shot, your handle, or your athleticism.
It's about your heart, your attitude, your willingness to sacrifice for the guy next to you.
Kids have to learn to dig deep, struggle & fight their way out of adversity. You can pay to put them on every kind of competitive team, get them a trainer/equipment/extra practice, but if they can’t claw their way past troubles that WILL come, they’ll never develop as athletes.
Sports mirror life, some days everything clicks, other days nothing does. The difference isn’t talent; it’s steadiness. People who grow don’t rise & fall with results. They stay grounded in the work. Detach confidence from outcomes, commit to the process & you’ll play/live free.
Youth athletic parents:🚨
"Stats show that only about 10 % of elite 10-year-old athletes are still elite at age 18. Only 8 % of Nobel Prize winners & world champions were child prodigies. In fact, the only thing that early success guarantees is… early success" ~ John O'Sullivan
What players hate about coaching style?
Subbed on a mistake
Contradicting themselves
Playing faves
Not caring about them as people
Only in it for wins
Boring repetitive drills/practices
Not abiding by own rules
Micromanaging
Constant lectures
Not listening
Comparisons
Dishonesty
The best coaches don't just teach the game; they teach life.
Accountability. Effort. Resilience.
Every rep, every sprint, every team talk, it's bigger than basketball. Win or lose on the court, real success is measured in who your players become off it.
"When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen." Isaiah 60:22
So relax. You're not behind, you're not forgotten, and you're not late. God's timing is still working in your favor.

AAU season has started. It is bitter sweet. I have a GREAT new batch of young men (2033), but miss the Class of 2026. They really set a bar. Great Players, Great Individuals. They are a group i will never forget. The 2033's bring a new energy and passion. I see allot ahead!
Observation: College coaches are moving from school to school more than ever. Everyone talks about how “you never know when or where a coach might go” & how that could impact your recruiting —& it’s true. Sometimes you even move up with them
But here’s the part people forget:🔽
something special.
It’s not politics. It’s familiarity. It’s continuity. It’s building with people who understand your system and your expectations.
Players: This is why relationships matter. This is why consistency matters. This is why how you carry yourself every day matters.
