Muhammad died (if his existence in the first place is to be assumed) in the year 632 AD.

The first written biography was not recorded until 750 AD by Ibn Ishaq, whose manuscripts were conveniently lost. Also, conveniently, they were posthumously reattempted and retranslated in the 9th century by Ibn Hisham.

Or am I thinking of a different Islam? The Quran states that its language is Arabic, but Arab-speaking people have difficulty understanding its language.

The difficulty stems from the fact that the language of the Quran has always been, and still is an Aramaic document.

In the seventh century, Syriac, a dialect of Aramaic, was the written language of the Near East, not Arabic.

Classical Arabic is a distorted form of Aramaic. The Palmyrene and Nabataean inscriptions in Syria and Transjordan indicate that these two Arab kingdoms had literature written in Aramaic, Greek, and some Latin.

None of these inscriptions were written in "classical Arabic."
Numerous Quranic verses are kept out of translation; among those are the Quranic words "kalalat" (Q. 83: 9); "iliyyun" (Q. 83: 20); "ra'ina" (Q. 2: 47, 105); "sijjin" (Q. 83: 9); "tasnim" (Q. 83: 28); "iblis" (Q. 2: 35, 18: 51); "al-riss" (Q.25: 39); "al-samiri" (Q.20: 86); "wasatan" (Q. 2: 144) etc.

These and other words can only be understood within the Aramaic context, not Arabic.

The written Arabic language has two features that make it difficult for an outsider to learn: it uses dots to distinguish consonants like "b" and "t," and in its original form it had no sign or symbol for short vowels, which could be rendered by various dashes or comma-type marks.

Vastly different readings even of Uthman's version were enabled by these variations.

Arabic script itself was not standardized until the later part of the ninth century, and in the meantime the undotted and oddly voweled Koran was generating wildly different explanations of itself, as it still does.

This might not matter in the case of the Iliad, but remember that we are supposed to be talking about the unalterable (and final) word of god.

There is obviously a connection between the sheer feebleness of this claim and the absolutely fanatical certainty with which it is advanced.

This is most commonly referred to as denial. Although in this sense it is a bit more hysterical than mere denial.

Astonishingly, your government allows Cambridge’s name to be tarnished by hate.

Why is the London police not investigating these dangerous Islamists, who hide behind corporate fronts like Yas for Investment and Real Estates LTD and Holdco UK Properties Limited? They are buying properties, displacing citizens, and maybe opening the door for former Al-Qaeda members and illegal immigrants to seize control of your city.

The UAE has banned the Muslim Brotherhood because we recognize them for what they truly are: breeders of extremism, the root from which Hamas, Al-Qaeda, and ISIS emerged. How many more warnings will it take before you stop prioritizing political correctness over your people’s safety?

A terrorist in the West is a terrorist in the East, North, and South. Do not make him a property seller or an educator. No one plants a poisonous seed and expects to harvest good fruit. Wisdom teaches us that evil breeds evil; delay in action only strengthens its roots.

When I was a child, I lived in a very poor neighbourhood in the north of England. This was in the 1980s.

My grandmother would lecture me about staying away from the Pakistani men who were starting to move in with their families.

He had converted from Christianity to Islam. He joined the military, leaving behind young children. He served for several years, traveling to different states and was deployed to Afghanistan once. He retired from the military in 2020 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Did Afghanistan influence him negatively? That doesn’t seem to be the case. Family and neighbors described him as a calm, polite, and well-mannered person.

So, what led him to become a terrorist? About a year ago, he moved to a Muslim-majority neighborhood, spent most of his time engrossed in religion, and frequented the local mosque. Members of groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda, or even those who became Islamic terrorists without joining any formal group, like the Boston Marathon bombers or the attackers of the Holey Artisan Café, share a similar story. They became intensely religious, then highly radicalized. Extreme religiosity turns people into extremists, and the next step after becoming an extremist is becoming a terrorist.

Thus, believing in Islam comes with risks. Believe less, and you can lead a normal life. Believe more, and you might become a terrorist. In a jihad-prone country like Bangladesh, a terrorist might survive comfortably, but in any civilized country, terrorism inevitably leads to the death penalty.
