Linus Gechter, wow, what a center-back.

For someone still so young (22), he already plays with a level of maturity that’s well beyond his age.

He anticipates situations well, steps in to intercept passes and rarely looks rushed when defending. He’s also very aggressive in the way he attacks duels, but does it in a controlled and fair manner rather than diving into challenges.

The biggest thing that impressed me, though, was his ability in the air. Whether it’s defending crosses or competing for long balls, he’s extremely reliable and wins a lot of aerial duels.

On the ball, he’s developing nicely too. He’s comfortable in possession and always looks willing to help build attacks from the back. I do think there’s still room for him to play a few more progressive, line-breaking passes, but the fundamentals are already solid.

Considering the qualities he already has at his age, it’s no surprise to see his name linked with clubs from higher levels.

A player with a very bright future ahead of him.
