In addition to several panel discussions, today’s board retreat will also include a trust-building exercise where four of us go into a room, write a 13 page document, and then tell the other 40 board members to just shut up and sign the thing.
This reminds us of a genius PR move from a few years back by a certain governing board... 🤔
Next thing you know, the White House will launch a special web page and call it “the truth.”
President Donald Trump followed through on his threat to undercut an interview set to air on “60 Minutes” this weekend, posting what he said was the uncut version of his contentious conversation https://t.co/FHG1bt0BI2
Due to social distancing protocols at McLane Stadium on Saturday, commoners will *not* be permitted to enter our Regent Suite (or as Dary Stone always liked to call it, the "Holy of Holies").
Same way we run our BOR meetings. Just spray, wipe, and any written evidence is gone forever. But with the added perk that you can literally say transparency was involved in the decision-making process.
Baylor coach Dave Aranda is here at the Lone Star Coaching Clinic in College Station, and instead of a PowerPoint to start (like most), he opened his presentation by just drawing out schemes on an old school overhead projector.
Not mentioned in this @wacotrib article is the section that highlights the history of the Baylor Board of Regents.
Note: Admission to the BOR wing does require that you sign an NDA, which does include a non-disparagement clause.
We are deeply disappointed to learn that Pepper Hamilton knowingly violated a Court order and failed to comply with deadlines. From the beginning, we have strongly encouraged them to produce all documents in a timely manner. 😉
On a related note, did you know that you can now use CTRL+F to search files for keywords and stuff? That must be a new Microsoft thing. Sure would have been nice to have had that feature three years ago!
You people wouldn’t understand, but it is really hard to produce all these documents, especially when you only have three short years to compile everything. https://t.co/2jg0Vm4xeA
Just got off the phone with our attorneys and our good friends at Pepper Hamilton, all of whom said today's hearing went great. Now we wait for Judge Pitman to make another dumb ruling that we can ignore for a few more months.
You gotta love the diversity @Johnson4Dallas party, which is increasingly sounding like a victory celebration. Folks in gym shorts and tube socks, others in evening attire so spangly it hurts your eyes. But lots of security — for elected officials, none of whom I’ve seen yet.
If you ever find yourself in a lawsuit and want to keep certain documents hidden, pray you don’t get this guy as your judge. He’s turned into a real pain in the you know what.
First item on the agenda this morning: We will be reaching out to the @Big12Conference to make sure that Bob Bowlsby isn’t moonlighting as the commissioner for the Scripps Spelling Bee. #OneTrueChampion
Uh...@SharonFGrigsby, we’re actually really glad they didn’t mention Baylor in their release. If only we could get you people in the media to stop mentioning it, too. Nevertheless, thank you for continuing to place the blame where it belongs: on Art Briles. Have a blessed day! 🙏🏼
Seems like @MtVernonISD knew exactly what they were doing, given that they left the Baylor years completely out of the press release. If Art Briles did nothing wrong at Baylor, why try to hide those years? Did @MtVernonISD think we'd forget?
Coincidentally, this tweet was actually posted because we were starting to hear that Art Briles was returning to Texas. It wasn’t until later that we learned police had chased two suspects onto campus.
From all of us on the BOR, a big congrats to all the Baylor students who graduated yesterday! Today marks your first full day as a whining, complaining alumnus who constantly acts like we owe you an explanation for the decisions we make.
@turnthepaigeh Hey, you should be grateful that we even wrote you back. Besides, if you were to actually step foot in a Regent meeting and make eye contact with any of us, it’d be like that Indiana Jones scene when they open up the Ark of the Covenant.
As a courtesy reminder, this is the time of year when you people get to pick someone to serve on the board. (The rest of us—the remaining 30+ board members—are picked by God.)
If this works the same way as how we give Baylor awards to alums, then @PhillipEricksen & @wacotrib must have written a GIANT $$$ check to the APME. Congrats on the “award!” 😉 https://t.co/fu7cUzvquK
