Uli Hoeneß criticizes Lothar Matthäus while talking about Jamal Musiala:

"I really hope he returns to his old level of strength; we all wish that for him. I think FC Bayern has handled the situation very fairly. After all, the injury dates back a year, and they have shown a lot of patience. And the pressure being brought up now by people from outside, Matthäus and the like, that doesn't help him or us. I believe he will continue to be given time, but of course he has to live up to the role he had before his injury."

Uli Hoeneß: "I haven't spoken directly with Harry about it, but I hear that he feels very comfortable in Munich. We also feel very comfortable with him, and there is really no reason why he should leave next year. At least, I can't see one. He is a player who is a role model in every respect, not just as a goalscorer and as a player on the pitch, but also as a person."

Uli Hoeneß: "I laughed my head off. I just checked how long his contract runs. Three years. And that’s not an issue for me at all. The Emperor of China could show up right now, and we wouldn’t even talk to him."

Does the same apply to Luis Díaz?

Uli Hoeneß: "For everyone. Why would it? We’d have to be crazy. You pay €60 or €70 million in compensation, maybe €120 million, and then go chasing after other players when you don’t even know how they’re going to perform for us. We’re in the fortunate position of having the best trio in the world with Díaz, Kane and Olise. And the new player from Morocco will certainly join them as well. But we’d have to be completely broke to even consider selling one of them."

Uli Hoene�� believes the planned investor deal by FIFA President Gianni Infantino is doomed to fail following the threatened boycott by UEFA:

"Personally, I think the Europeans don't yet realize how strong they actually are. A competition without Europeans is worthless. If the Europeans are truly united and work consistently toward this goal, then Mr. Infantino will not succeed with this plan. Going back to the past, through the G-14 on the club side, we managed to bring UEFA to the negotiating table, secure much more money, and gain much greater recognition for the major clubs. And I imagine something similar now. The associations and the countries that matter in world football—and for me, those are primarily the Europeans—need to be united. And if they are united, then this will not happen."

Uli Hoeneß says that he apologized to Eberl after his comments about Eberl's future on the day of the Pokal final:

"First of all, I have to say that I was incredibly angry with myself; that was naive. Apparently, my comments were well-received enough to be released to the public as early as Saturday morning. Because of that, I obviously didn't treat Max well before the Pokal match, and I also apologized to him."
