As talent levels continue to rise and the transfer portal continues to flourish, opportunities to play at the Division 1 level have become increasingly more slim. While D1 may be the goal, its not the only path to success.

One thing I’ve noticed at the grassroots level is a lot of coaches are preaching ball movement but not player movement.
Too much standing and watching when players don’t have the ball. Cutting, interchanging and off ball screens are great ways to get the defense moving.

3x3 is the best development tool for players.
The emphasis should be on quick decisions. There is so much space on the floor that it should take 1 or 2 actions at most to get a good shot. If it takes more, we aren’t executing!!
The best athletes are even keeled. Never too high, never too low, and not too reactive. Mistakes are going to happen, but they always keep a “next play” mentality.
