Meet Dusty, yesterday Dusty became the newest resident of Bella Bear's Senior Pet Sanctuary. Dusty's owner is suffering a host of medical and financial issues and feels that she cannot give him the care that he needs. She has entrusted BBSPS to give him life-long care, where he can be surrounded by other senior pets in a peaceful and loving environment. He's already found his favorite windowsill. #rescueanimals

After receiving Dusty's adoption records, I have learned that he is a survivor of Hurricane Harvey and was transported to Yucca Valley, CA five years ago. What a storied life this kitty has lived. He now has a forever home.
17 year old Princess arrived today and is the newest resident of Bella Bear's Senior Pet Sanctuary. She was rescued by a group of wonderful ladies who heard that she was going to be euthanized. Bella Bear's Senior Pet Sanctuary read about this story on a neighborhood website and offered a safe and loving home where she could live out the rest of her life in safety, comfort, and dignity. We have scheduled her first Vet appointment to get her examined, so that we can provide her with the best care possible. The last photo is of Dusty and Honey peering in cautiously at their new housemate. Welcome aboard, Princess!
RIP Tuxxy. Three days ago Bella Bear's Senior Pet Sanctuary was contacted by Cynthia, whose sweet senior kitty Tuxxy had stopped eating and drinking days before. Due to her own medical issues, lack of transportation, and financial distress she was unable to get him the care he needed. We jumped into action the same day, provided transportation to VCA urgent care where a panel of tests were done, fluids, and antiobioctics given, and medications prescribed. Unfortunately, this morning Cynthia called saying that Tuxxy still was not eating or drinking and she did not think he would make it. By the time we got to VCA urgent care he was gone. BBSPS has paid all vet bills and cremation expenses. $842
Additionally, we will be providing life-long sanctuary for Cynthia's other senior cat, Raphael, in a few days when she is ready to let go. This is the kind of work that we do. I just wish Cynthia had learned of us a few days earlier. If she had this may have resulted in a very different outcome.
These are like the eyes in my dreams. Over the past few years I've had dreams of various animals, mostly canines (blonde wolves and such) staring at me intensely and it startles me awake every time. I suspect it has a spiritual significance, like a message from the other side.
