I’m just playing devils advocate for the larger implications in the healthcare conversation.

@simcumcise @joshuasforrest @jack The codes need to catch up with the technology AND we need to know how sensitive and specific the results are applied in the real world. We are being told to be good stewards of health resources and this creates a need for huge work ups and increased health care claims

@simcumcise @joshuasforrest @jack I’m not saying it is a bad thing to have. It may catch the healthy people who are more likely to just drop dead with no prior symptoms. But if the patient is asymptomatic, the provider will have to make a symptom up or the patient may have to pay out of pocket for the full workup

@jack Outside of work I organize my life for happiness and fulfillment. I have learned to balance my time for my family and friends while still caring for myself and my well being. I rarely take call and I don’t work at home until late evening and then only if it is necessary

@jack Right now I’m teaching full time at work while still having to see every patient myself and review my students’ work. I don’t have an everyday list but I make lists when specific events arise that make me start to feel overwhelmed. Otherwise I work off deadlines and prioritize

@jack For example, malignant narcissists lack the personal insight and emotional fortitude to be able to engage with those who have different views on life and they cannot stand to be questioned or criticized over any action/decision. They would take their proverbial toys and go home.

@jack Even if you adjusted for access to tech and language it would be impossible. To bridge all cultures, religions, etc would require being open minded, tactful AND willing to give and receive constructive criticism. A large number of people would be unwilling to participate.
