JOIN THE NETWORK 💪
We have started an organization of those from North Carolina who want to support and advocate for better breast cancer early detection coverage.
🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨
California has just passed the historic Toxic-Free Medical Devices Act (AB 2300), banning the toxic phthalate DEHP from IV bags and tubing! This law is the first in the nation and a huge win for patient safety and public health. 🎉
AB 2300 marks the 20th health-protective law that BCPP has championed! We wrote the legislation; met with dozens of offices; convinced legislators to support this bill; and rallied the masses to take action. Together, we made history!!
But here is the caveat...
The new law will not go into effect until 2030! Sometimes, no matter how hard you push, the industry pushes back harder. But we are not giving up yet. We're just getting started.
Because the pursuit of patient safety is far from over.
3 of the 4 leading manufacturers of IV bags and tubing have DEHP-free options, and guess what? They’re cost-comparable. So, no more excuses about profit over people!
We will now focus on calling on hospitals nationwide not to delay taking action and sign our pledge to go DEHP-free. Support our efforts by urging your hospital (if they don't already) to choose DEHP-free IVs!
We need your help now to make this effort possible! Follow our campaign and donate to support or efforts for Toxic-Free IVs today, so we can continue to:
➡️ Convert hospital systems to non-toxic IV options
➡️ Educate health practitioners so they can protect their patients
➡️ Hold companies that sell PVC and DEHP medical devices accountable
➡️ Save lives by protecting neonates, mothers, cancer patients, and everyone!

Welcome to Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Did you know that having dense breasts can make it harder to detect cancer with standard mammograms?
Follow us this month to learn more.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re highlighting financial obstacles preventing women from accessing lifesaving breast cancer care. New data found 1/3 of women aged 40-74 skipped screenings due to cost, and 48% are unlikely to pursue treatment if OOP costs exceed $2,000.
You're invited! Join me, and the @PBCC for our #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth kickoff on Friday, October 4 at 9:30 AM at the Upper Perk YMCA!

✨ Women's Health Data Alert! ✨
@bremfoundation, in partnership with @NPLB_org, released import new data today, confirming that financial barriers are preventing millions of women from accessing vital breast cancer screenings and treatment.
Out-of-pocket costs are standing in the way of women getting the breast care they need to stay healthy. It’s time to take action and break down these barriers.
Tomosynthesis slightly improves cancer detection for all women and reduces false positives, but many cancers are still difficult to see in dense breasts, where #MammogramsAreNotEnough. Consider adding MRI, or ultrasound if MRI not possible.

Follow us on all socials for the month of October, we will be sharing facts and stories about dense breasts for #breastcancerawarenessmonth and how you can join the fight against breast cancer!
