After Elon Musk posted about Pizzagate around November of last year, a resurgence of interest in the conspiracy happened, with many new eyes reading about the theory for the first time. However, I saw multiple people - more than I’d expect - challenging the legitimacy of the pedophile codes, and even asserting that no such codes existed before pizzagate, essentially saying that Pizzagate itself is what prompted pedophiles to use “cheese pizza” as a code.

While cheese pizza has no instinctive singular origin point, it’s been used by pedos online since the early 2000s, and the other pedophile codes such as “chicken” have been around since the 19th century.
