It’s a good week in Heartsy Land!!! We have tentatively been approved for $5,000 from Peoria’s 2025/2026 Non Profit Grant for more advanced art classes for our senior citizens! Yeaaaa!!!!

Over the years our seniors have learned to weave, paint, sculpt with clay, zentangle,

mosaic, paint pour, work with advanced equiptment/materials and so much more! They have even learned techniques and been the teachers themselveslves for friends, family or their own support groups!

Today my Peoria seniors got FUNKYYYYYY with their first ever Crazy Cactus Watercolors!! We learned wet on dry, wet on wet, salt techniques, alcohol techniques and fun facts about the saguaro cactus!!

How tall Is a ten year old saguaro? Any guesses?

We will bring 3 new art classes in new mediums, 3 sessions for private arts business development, 2 Q&A sessions, and 20 Hours of Administrstive time to help develop spreadsheets for inventory and sales documents for staff at Pathways.

Our Heartsy adaptive group in the South Mountain Community Center’s “Partners Program” did it again!!! Our students created a custom “record of their lives” as they used a custom spin art machine and REAL 45’s to make Rock and Roll records with texture and words added ontop!

The smiles of joy and accomplishment on their faces only tells part of the story….the fact that after class they lingered for hugs and chats instead of rushing to lunch told the rest! I just adore this group!!

Today’s HeARTsy art class was an absolute blast! Our amazing adaptive artists got to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces using a *custom-built spin art machine*—and the canvas? REAL 45 RECORDS! 🎵

1. Frida Kahlo (painter) - Known for her self-portraits and depiction of Mexican culture, Kahlo's work often reflected her experiences with physical pain and disability due to a bus accident.
