Well I actually do worry, because Murphy is a thing. Do you have Life Insurance so your family can be provided for? Sort of the same thing, my gun is my life insurance. My training with my gun is life insurance.

I carry my gun, not because I want to use it.
I carry my gun because I fear I might have to.

Only batteries I carry in my gear are lithium, for this reason. Sure they are expensive, but they are cheaper than a PVS-14 repair job.

If you have items which use AA or AAA batteries, like the pictured Aimpoint M4s, avoid using standard Alkaline batteries. The battery has a MUCH greater chance of corroding and damaging your item (as seen below). Stick with the lithium versions of those batteries.

@aerodawg_emh I have eneloop AA and AAA in the solar box. Good batteries, I just don't store them in the devices. In fact most devices STAY battery free until it's time to kit up.
