@TVGrimReaper I could see Freeform going to A+E Networks just due to being historically on cable lineups for decades.
I'm thinking most of them (FXX, FXM, etc.) will just fade to black due to content duplication with Disney+ and Hulu.
I feel that King Elon is using every insane policy announcement akin to "The Purge".
Literally drive everyone off until the last one turns the lights off.
This is normal for lower rates for rebrand launches.
However, $1,000 per month for ads? That's insane.
This shows the company is being seriously devalued. This is the rate of a small town paper, not a major social media company.
No wonder this company will fail.
NEWS: Brand accounts will lose their verification if they haven’t spent at least $1,000 on ads in the previous 30 days or $6,000 on ads in the previous 180 days.
@OCpatriot_@elonmusk@netcapgirl If Twitter can't attract the big companies for advertising, small businesses may step up, but at lower costs.
Twitter Blue could alleviate things but even then, it was poorly launched and poorly timed.
Losing money on ad space + losing money on subscribers = negative cash flow
@IvanEscobosa@elonmusk@netcapgirl Advertisers are spooked due to the amount of extremist content, along with technical issues.
They want someplace safe to share their wares. Twitter is increasingly no longer the place unless Twitter offers deep discounts.
Twitter will continue with negative cash flow due to the size of debt.
This means Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. Lenders (banks) would be in charge and Elon would have to listen.
Once that occurs, Twitter's competition would be Gab, Parler, and Rumble or another MySpace
@netcapgirl We’re still negative cash flow, due to ~50% drop in advertising revenue plus heavy debt load. Need to reach positive cash flow before we have the luxury of anything else.
@TVGrimReaper Paramount has CW-less TV stations in big markets.
They have networks in the UK, Australia, and Argentina.
They've proposed selling off BET and VH1.
However, who would buy?
Other media entities would be in monopoly territory at that point.
Unless they spin off CBS again...
Basing things since February 2023:
Twitter: $25,000~
YouTube: $4.5 million~
This is a feel good news story on Twitter, but, even YouTube has a better payout model that rewards small content creators.
Twitter doesn't at this time, maybe in the future. Just not now.
King Elon is trying to retain whatever creators he has with ad revenue share payments.
You have to maintain 5 million views every month for 3 months to get a share and have Twitter Blue.
Twitter: $5,000/month
YouTube: $900,000/month (on average with same subscriber base)
🙃
@mizanrsharif@elonmusk He could've spent a ¼ of the Twitter purchase money and bought a low ranked competitor or started his own community via Mastodon.
Instead, he didn't do his due diligence. He purchased and saddled Twitter with debt.
I'm surprised he hasn't started selling the copper wiring yet.
King Elon believes in free speech, just not the free market.
Any IP issues are meaningless. Non compete agreements are void, if that employee is fired with no income coming from Twitter.
Another possible loss for King Elon
Mainstream advertisers won't go with controversial entities.
Once government accounts leave Twitter, then it's over.
Twitter will end up like Parler, Gab, or Rumble. A polarized entity will have little reach and little profit.
The issue will come down to engagement.
With Threads, this can be an extra add on for advertisers and content creators aimed at general audiences.
With Twitter, the only content deals appear to be with far right entities like The Daily Wire, aimed at specific audiences.
@astrospeccion This is a nostalgic rush, due to the Twitter drama.
People want to have fun on social media. Zuckerberg is bad, but, people are used to him. Not so much, Musk.
People will set up shop, can express deeper but with realistic thought. This app maybe more protective than Twitter.
Threads could be a social media service that portrays itself as safe & stable, something the masses want.
It feeds into their nostalgia of the past, where social media is fun, not polarizing and dramatic.
This app could be stable & bold, yet unique against Meta's app siblings.
