There are many ways to explore Half Moon Bay from the water or the trail. Pillar Point Harbor is a nice spot for a kayak or paddleboard outing — and the Coastal Trail runs for miles if you'd rather take a bike. Our neighbors at Half Moon Bay Kayak Co rent all three.
A weekend by the sea makes a thoughtful gift for Father's Day. Balcony views, an afternoon at Pillar Point Harbor, and dinner next door at Sam's Chowder House. Our Beers at the Beach package adds two pours from Hop Dogma Brewing and a pair of pint glasses to take home.
There are only a few weeks of spring left on the coast before summer officially arrives. If you've been meaning to get away, this is a nice window — mild weather, green hills, and beaches that are still quiet enough to feel like your own.
"We had a great one night stay at the Beach House during our kids spring break. From the moment we arrived, Victoria at the front desk made us feel like family. The hotel went above and beyond for us. Kids loved the heated pool, spa, and location."

Weekdays on the coast have their own rhythm. Fewer people on the beach, easier parking at the harbor, and a quieter stretch of the Coastal Trail to yourself. The Beach House is an easy drive from the Bay Area — easy enough that a Tuesday checkout doesn't feel like a big ask.
Some of the best thinking happens when you step away from the office. The Beach House offers quiet, comfortable space for small executive retreats and team meetings — To book your next retreat at the Beach House, contact Lorrie Trautman at 650.712.3303 or [email protected].
Main Street is worth an afternoon on its own. A short drive from the Beach House, you'll find some genuinely good independent shops — Jupiter & Main for clothing and gifts, Olive for the garden, and Coastside Books. And that's just the beginning — there's plenty more to explore.
The Coastside Farmers Market is back every Saturday at Shoreline Station, just a short drive from the Beach House. Fresh produce, local goods, and that unhurried Half Moon Bay morning — it's one of the simple pleasures of staying here. Market runs 9am–1pm at 225 Cabrillo Hwy N.
Good news if you've been thinking about a coastal getaway — our spring stay-and-save offer has been extended through May 15. Stay 2 nights and save 10%, or stay 3 or more nights and save 15% at the Beach House, based on availability.

This time of year, the Beach House feels especially peaceful. The hills are still green, the weather is mild, and there’s plenty of room to enjoy the beach and harbor at your own pace. It’s a quieter side of Half Moon Bay—and one of the best times to experience it.
"This hotel is a gem! Located right off highway 1 and close to nearby eateries and the ocean . This is a 3 story hotel and each room is a suite. Their breakfast was provided by nearby bakeries which was really nice to support local businesses!"

Longer days mean later sunsets, and April brings some of the most beautiful evenings of the year at the Beach House. Pour a glass of wine, settle in on your balcony, and watch the sky change over Pillar Point Harbor.
April is one of our favorite times to stay at the Beach House—especially mid-week. The beaches are quieter, the weather is beautiful, and there’s more time to enjoy the harbor and the Coastal Trail at a slower pace.
Just a short drive from the Beach House, the Coastside Farmers’ Market returns this weekend. Visit every Saturday from 9am–1pm at Shoreline Station for local produce and all the best flavors of spring on the Coastside.

"Perfection – from the front desk, to the view, the fireplace , and the absolute most comfortable beds. I just love this place. Watching the tide go, and the boats going out to fish…This is my 5th time but not my last."
