What time is it? GLOWtime!! No better way to prep for the upcoming state test. We had reading review task cards with glow bowling and ping pong toss, grammar jenga, vocabulary kerplunk, idiom go fish, and match tac toe. Best day ever!

Today's review day was a slam dunk! Basketball themed passages to practice context clues, text structure, text features, and central idea were so much fun! Students earned chances to shoot hoops to score points for their team.

Our 4th graders are learning all about St Augustine this week. They learned that during the 1800's, the Castillo de San Marcos was used as a prison to 230 Seminoles who were captured. One night, 20 of them escaped. Students were tasked with working together to plan their escape!

We read Balloons Over Broadway today, watched a short video of the history of the Macy's Parade, talked about text structure, integrating information, and vivid vocabulary. Then, we designed our own Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons and advertisements!

We are loving our Legend of Sleepy Hollow novel study unit! Add in spooky music, dim lights, hanging lanterns, witch fingers (to find context clues in the text/use as a reading tracker), and sticky notes for jotting down text evidence and we have instant engagement! @IvyHawnSuhr

My class cashed in their PBIS Brownie Points today and enjoyed a special treat! They earn the points when receiving compliments from staff members for displaying excellent behavior and following the Ivy Hawn Way. 12 Brownie points equals homemade brownies for them! @IvyHawnSuhr
