@CWPBirds walk around Cleveland Lakes this am produced Sparrowhawk, c.30 Red-crested Pochards, c.80 Wigeon, 2 Water Rails, a Greylag, at least 5 Chiffchaffs, 3 of them heard singing, earliest Iโve ever heard them. Also a BHG with near complete brown hood already.
@CWPBirds Walk around Shorncote this am in sunshine produced 40 species including Blackcap, Red Kite, Water Rail, Reed Bunting, Cettis, Chiffchaff, Grey Wag, Treecreeper. Lots of Redwing and Fieldfare about also

Walk around Shorncote this a.m. in glorious sunshine. 42 bird species incl. 6 warbler species (garden, blackcap, whitethroat, sedge, cetti & chiff). Others incl. hobby, water rail, green sand, l. grebe. Insects incl. Migrant hawker, common & ruddy darters, small heath @CWPBirds
26 different bird species at Blakehill early this morning, on the larger side of counts Iโve had there. Included a Wheatear, Whinchat, couple Lesser Whitethroats, GSW, Bullfinch, Reed Bunting and plenty of Mipits. @CWPBirds
Any dragonfly experts out there able to tell me what I saw on a walk in the Cotswolds yesterday. I want to say female Common Darter but could be Ruddy??
