Arsenal were a banter era club before Jesus and Zinchenko landed. Had just lost out on Champions League qual to Conte's 'inevitable' Spurs side (third top scorer 'own goal'). We had a 'rookie' coach and a very young squad. Arsenal most certainly over-invested in Zinchenko and Jesus, but that's what you have to do to attract top class talent to a project in motion.

I was told those two changed the dynamic of training; they brought a different level of professionalism to every action, and ultimately, Arsenal went on to finish an unexpected second (three times in a row)… and then we won the Premier League.

Arsenal are Champions because of moves like this. Those big contracts are a cost of greatness. I don't regret Arsenal spending a penny of it. We should never forget who helped get us back to the top, Jesus should be respected for what he gave us, even if his presence in this new era is grating.

Arsène Wenger had to switch mentality and move from experienced players to youth! He moved from buying players and counting on players like Vieira, Pires, Ljungberg to counting on the likes of Fabregas, Diaby, Denilson and the rest because Arsenal had a huge project to complete with the Emirates Stadium, so the club had to make a huge sacrifice because there was no money! I remember Wenger saying that Arsenal’s budget for a full season of transfers was what Chelsea was using to sign one player!! It was crazy! Nonsense!

Please tell me, what project did Manchester City, United, Chelsea and the rest embark on? What sacrifice did they make!! Arsène Wenger had to sign on for years so the banks could give Arsenal loans!
