Accommodations are changes to teaching and/or testing that make learning more accessible. They focus on HOW the student is learning. /3

@WeAreTeachers I once confidently told my class of 4th graders we “gifted” France the Eiffel Tower in return for the Statue of Liberty. My husband corrected me that night as I told my “proud teacher moment”. The next day I admitted my misconception, fully modeling forever a learner. 😂

There is overwhelming research showing homework does little to improve achievement, especially in early years, and can actually have negative effects. Recess however has many positive effects such as improved self regulation of emotions, improved interpersonal skills and focus!
