Steve & I became friends through this silly app, despite being half a world away, and cheering for division rivals.
He was a wonderful human being, and I am elated that I had the opportunity to know him.
Incredibly tough loss but it was an amazing season. And for the first time in forever, it feels sustainable. So many great moments watching this season with my 3 boys. Can’t wait till next year! #Bears
"Part of the journey is the end."
What a journey for these Bears, though. From the flashes in training camp to a glimpse into the Ben Johnson era in the preseason. The slow build up after the 0-2 start with clutch October wins, Ben's first locker room speech, and Caleb's transformation into the Iceman.
Multiple unbelievable plays that we'll never forget, and the growing belief in a team whose confidence grew every week. It led to meaningful football in December for the first time in years, which ended up in a division title and a playoff win over Green Bay.
Expectations have been raised and this team will probably look much different going forward. Nothing is guaranteed, but with Ben and Caleb at the helm, the Bears will always have a shot. But the 2025 team will be one we look back fondly on.
Bummed that the Bears lost last night.
However, I will never forget being in the stands for that Caleb to Kmet TD. I have never experienced anything like it. Soldier Field was deafening.
Proud Bears fan.

A lot of talk going into Bears-Rams has been about the weather, but I think travel is just as important. LA is playing their 4th away game in 5 weeks & will have had to travel across the country 3 times. That's a lot.
Also - the Rams have never won 2 road playoff games in a row under Sean McVay.
We called it.
On our last podcast (end of last season) we said that as soon as the BDCP ended, the Bears would win the division and be headed to the playoffs.
You're welcome.

Personal note here.
I've always been a fan of the Bears going back nearly 25 years but I decided to take that a step further when I messaged @BryanPerezNFL about a chance to write with @TheBearsWire. I had no sports writing experience and this account had maybe 100 followers. That was in the spring of 2019.
For the last 7 seasons, I slowly but surely worked my way up, put out the best content I could while trying to do it the right way, and covered a team that was difficult to watch much of the time. By the end of every season, I was drained from saying the same things over and over and always looking towards the offseason. But finally, I get to write about the NFC North champion Chicago Bears.
Seasons like this are what I always hoped for when I started covering the team and it's been such a fun ride. I know many others probably share this experience, including the entire BW staff of @AlyssaBarbieri, @MP2310 and @VinnieParise so I'm just grateful that we have gotten to go through a season like this together and for the connections made along the way.
It's not over yet but I'm enjoying the ride.
