I’m a little warped in the head in that I see a job like this and my eyes light up. I even told the customer, “challenge accepted” when he brought in this Hammer Black Widow 2.0 that had been damaged at a local bowling center. Thank you Steven for giving me permission to share.
(3) Absolutely nothing against those who embrace this time of year, I simply have no desire to be a part of it myself.

(1) Instead of my traditional “(Insert generic Christmas greeting here)” post, I’ll offer this:
Firstly, whatever you celebrate this time of year and however you choose to celebrate, I hope you’re well and with the people that you want to be with…
(2) As for me, the bloom came off the rose for the holiday season (and family-themed holidays in general) some years ago when my parents split up. It’s in the last three or four years that I finally quit putting on a happy face for those around me…
Probably a classic case of me laughing way harder than I had any business laughing, but seeing someone had stuck fake eyelashes to the back of a bus seat got me this morning!
This one hurts. Glad I got to see Danny for what would be the last time on 1/31/20 when Palos Verdes Bowl closed its doors. His late mom, Karen, helped get me started in bowling in 1994. Danny gave me a chance to step up my game years later.
Rest well, and say Hi to Mama for me.
Tonight will be two years since Gable House Bowl closed. So many memories and friends made over almost 24years as a bowler and almost 22 years as an employee.
That said, I keep reflecting back on the last year and especially the final night… I don’t miss Gable House.
I was saddened to hear of Bob Uecker’s passing yesterday. While he was known as “Mr. Baseball,” this image from the then-WWF Wrestlemania IV with the late Andre The Giant was the first thing that popped into my head.
“Now how about getting your foot off my shoulder…”
