I have personally witnessed linguistic favoritism in IT MNCs , where some Telugu, Tamil, Malayali, Hindi and Bengali-speaking managers favour candidates from their own language groups. Once they gain influence, they try to bring more people from their own linguistic backgrounds into their teams.

I worked for a US-based company where initially Malayali groups had strong influence in management. There was an ultra-deshbhakt Kannadiga manager who hardly ever spoke Kannada.

A few days ago, someone from the company told me that the same manager has now started speaking Kannada after reportedly being sidelined by Telugu influence in management.

My appeal to Kannadigas: Come out of this blind ultra-deshbhakti. Respecting your Kannada identity, language and people is not against the nation.

Don't wait until you are sidelined to realise the importance of your own language and identity. Stand up for Kannada and fair opportunities for Kannadigas.

@DKShivakumar I worked 7 years in Bengaluru and I am from North India.
Never face 1% of discrimination from Native Kannadigas.
What a beautiful, intelligent people those are.
However Tamils are different, once a tamil become my cto, 80% new hired were from Tamilnadu.

Kannadigas are best one.

@CMofKarnataka Non Kannadiga HR's will hire only candidates from their home state despite they're not qualified enough for the particular role.

That's how there are so many migrants from AP, OD, TN, KL, DL, HR, etc on the streets of Bengaluru.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಐಟಿ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ದೂರುಗಳು ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ವಿಷಾದನೀಯ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆ ಇರುವವರನ್ನು ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿದೆ.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗನೇ ಸಾರ್ವಭೌಮ. ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಹಕ್ಕು, ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಜಗತ್ತು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರನ್ನು ಭಾರತದ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯಾಗಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ, ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಮಗೆ ಅಪಾರ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಿದೆ.

ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಉದ್ದೇಶಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡುಬಂದರೆ, ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಹಿತಾಸಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಧ್ವನಿಯಾಗಿ, ಅವರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಸದಾ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ.

Bengaluru Police arrested a 25-year-old Bihar native for allegedly creating & posting an AI-generated video depicting a bomb blast at Vidhana Soudha on Instagram.

The video, posted on Tuesday, showed an explosion at the state legislature building. Police registered an FIR & traced the account using digital clues.

The accused, a daily-wage pipe fitter, is in police custody. Investigators are probing his motive & possible involvement of others.
