As well as taking part in the #NRCquiz2026 with the @literacy_trust , Bearsden coordinates for the North and West of Scotland. Meaning that all 19 teams taking part sent their answers in to us, our wonderful S6 library ambassadors were marking them and updating the scores live!
Don’t worry the S6s were provided lots of snacks (including home made cupcakes) as fuel/ encouragement/ bribery!
Thank you to the 22 wonderful S6s who gave 3 hours of their time to help run this great initiative for S1-S3s.
Miss McCulloch couldn’t have done it without you!
Our Advanced Higher English students have recommended their favourite books for all to read. Check them out for reading in this cold, dark and wet season!

Last Thursday our Advanced Higher English class had a tour of Glasgow University Library and spent time working on our dissertations. Thanks to the staff at @uofglibrary for the opportunity to visit and explore the 2.5million books they have!

The library ambassadors give a great library tour 🤣
The library is open Monday-Friday, books are free, and the librarian is available to answer questions from everyone!

It’s official: Library periods are the best.

Our last book club book of this year was the hilarious “The First Kid in Space” by Tom Mitchell. Our members recommend this to anyone who likes funny stories, adventure, things that go wrong, and a hero you can relate to.
Thanks to @readingagency and @LittleTigerUK for our copies of “A Flash of Neon” by Sophie Cameron. Our junior book club read this in May and had a great time all reading the same book and discussing it.
🎉 Congratulations to the 2025 Winners of the Carnegie Medals for Writing and Illustration, and Shadowers' Choice Medals: Margaret McDonald, @natelessore, Theo Parish and Olivia Lomenech Gill! #Carnegies2025
