Since neither the Feds nor BC argued extinguishment, Richmond's argument was weakened, accordinging to some Aboriginal law experts. While @NikiSharma2 & @davideby say they're ardent defenders of private property, they can't point to any concrete actions to back that up. Nine mons after Cowichan, @bcndp govt has yet to file an actual appeal.
When asked if the govt would alter its current strategy if the the Declaration Act was struck down, he said, "The path forward for the province is the work we're doing with First Nations in advance of the fall legislative session to address [Gixaala] court case..."
