@Genesismwanzo1 Wote ni same doc.... basic undegraduate studies in US take 4 years after which they match to their residency programmes. DO though is like BSC CMED which came later on but was proven as a parallel medical programme and accepted via courts in the 80's. Both now coexist in practice

Remember pharmacists start internship at 206k while doing the bare minimum dispensing drugs!! They're paid call allowance of 60k while not present. BSC COs contrarily get 8k while they do calls in MO rotas!

@kavisunielite @Genesismwanzo1 To note is that the course sparked as a result of having systemic barriers to our advancement in the country. In other countries BSC CM are allowed to progress into MMED and quite a number in Kenya currently. The issue for them is just licensure after the course thus frustration

I saw the Laikipia County advert recruiting Bachelor of Oral Health graduates. Someone asked who employs them.
The answer is simple; County Governments.
Just because CS Health Aden Duale is against the cadre doesn't mean they won't be absorbed. Counties recruit based on service needs and the latest advert is proof.

@Genesismwanzo1 @kavisunielite MOH in liason with @coc_ke @ptason @maroag7 should ensure BSC Clinicians get the best training possible at internship for them to actualize their potentials as system issues get sorted. I believe the future is bright for the BscCM Drs!

@Genesismwanzo1 @kavisunielite The only issue we have locally is the system which is stuck on that parallel lines cannot coexist!.... If this were to change things would be very different. We need to start advocting for support all the way from internship for this is where great drs are forged!

@Genesismwanzo1 @kavisunielite They just study theoretically and encounter their first patients only at internship. They know alot of nothing but you'll always find them on TL slundering us... I tend to guess it's empty debe syndrome.
