I like the films (except CW, trash) but still the hero vs villain wish fulfilment anchors them, not the underlying themes

Instead the movies are definitely watered down & always balance out ‘deep’ shit with dumb stuff

The film Civil War is proof. Masquerades with some pseudo-political bs about asking whether heroes should be governed & punished...but in reality that plot exists solely to facilitate the 2 big fight setpieces

I can’t see how modern day superhero media presents a white supremacists fantasy. Sure I could see that argument applied to the old comics & cartoons, but in the modern era it seems a bit irrelevant.

I just feel JiK was bad, Ye was nothing special either, Dre’s Compton wasnt as good as Chronic or 2001 & the way Dre hyped up Oxnard & Ventura as classics only for them to just be decent was disappointing.

This guy was talking about Bruce: a man who existed in the past. I was educating him by explaining Bruce changed gender & pronoun so he is now a she.

Maybe one day I’ll view the albums the same way though. But at the moment I personally can’t see it.

@thehawkq @KanyePodcast @kanyewest But I agree with what you’re saying anyway. Even with MBDTF the story isn’t 100% consistent and some songs like So Appalled are just standard rap tracks that someone would have to stretch to try connect to a larger story.

So yeah you’re right overall.

Starting off he can’t get much higher & he’s high on the power, but he turns into a monster, runs away, ends up accepting being lost in world, etc
