Volusia County Schools is thrilled to welcome back our students tomorrow, Monday, August 12, for the 2024-25 school year! We hope you all had an amazing summer and are ready to embark on another fantastic journey of learning and achievement. See you tomorrow! 📚📖
Volusia County School District presents our ‘All Day, Every Day’ attendance initiative.
Your student’s future is built one school day at a time; All Day, Every day!
When your student misses just 2 days of school a month:
1. They lose 20 days of learning by year's end
2. That's 30 hours of crucial math instruction missed
3. 60 hours of essential reading and writing practice vanished
4. By graduation, this pattern results in over a year of missed education.
We understand that life happens. Illnesses occur, emergencies arise. But when possible, prioritize your child's presence in school. Each day is a vital piece of their educational journey.
Tips to improve attendance:
1. Establish consistent nighttime and morning routines
2. Prepare school clothes and school materials the night before
3. Schedule appointments outside school hours when possible
4. Communicate with teachers about any attendance challenges
5. Discuss the importance of attendance with your student.
6. Register for and regularly monitoring the Parent Portal is key to staying informed about your child's attendance and academic progress.
Join our ‘All Day, Every Day’ initiative. Together, we can ensure every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed through consistent attendance.
