@roisinmurphy I don’t think anybody should have to negotiate their right to exist, and I believe to say they do is what someone might say as they point a gun to their head or have them in a hostage situation.
@Loretta_S_PFJ@roisinmurphy I do and no one is impacted. I’m very fortunate to live in Australia. And the blessing is that I seldom think about my transness, whereas it seems many people in the UK spend their whole lives absorbed by winning an imaginary war against us and its very sad to me
@roisinmurphy If your fears are of trans people, then I can assure they are not. It’s only human to have fears for our safety, I get it. Who doesn’t want to be safe and have our loved ones be too? But trans people are not a threat to your safety or rights. We just want to live our lives.
@roisinmurphy As my dad would say as saw when I squealed at an insect as a child, ‘they’re much more scared of you than you are of them’. I don’t have power, minimal influence, but what I do have I would never use to make your day any less safe or peaceful.
@roisinmurphy God I’ll never forget when I first heard Overpowered as a kid, I bloody loved that song and played it over and over.
Ironically though, overpowered is how I feel right now. Your fears are aimed at the wrong people, I assure you of this.
@___f___e@roisinmurphy I understand your anger, I do. I’m angry, and I’m afraid. But calling her the b word just adds fuel to the fire and supports critics’ misconstrued arguments that trans advocacy is rooted in misogyny.
@K21Becky@roisinmurphy Hey, this is not on.
If you’re advocating for trans rights, you’re literally saying something critics say trans people stand for.
Trans people do NOT stand for misogyny. Globally, matriarchal societies are far healthier, safer ones. More women should be in charge not less.
"I am not interested in picking up crumbs of compassion thrown from the table of someone who considers himself my master. I want the full menu of human rights."
