Schools scared to death.
The truth is, one education under desks,
Stooped low from bullets;
That plunge when we ask
Where our children
Shall live
& how
& if

The overwhelming majority of COVID-19 related cases, hospitalizations & deaths in PA occurred in people who weren't vaccinated. Data shows compared to unvaccinated people, fully vaccinated Pa'ians are 7 times less likely to get COVID-19 & 8 times less likely to die from COVID-19.
The reality we are living in now is much different than it was just a month ago. With case counts increasing, the situation has reached the point that we need to take this action to protect our children, teachers and staff.
COVID-19 is still prevalent in our communities, which is why it's extremely important that everyone take their health seriously and get vaccinated. We've been working with vaccine providers to ensure they have the tools needed to vaccinate every Pennsylvanian who wants a vaccine.
“The power of just mercy is that it belongs to the undeserving. It’s when mercy is least expected that it’s most potent - strong enough to break the cycle of victimization and victimhood, retribution and suffering.”
As students look forward to returning to classes, getting a vaccine should be considered an essential back-to-school item on this year’s list for students 12 and older. The COVID-19 vaccine is our best protection from this virus.

Today I received my first dose of #COVID19 vaccine at a clinic in Cumberland County. I encourage Pennsylvanians to protect themselves and their loved ones from the COVID-19 virus by getting vaccinated too.

Everyone over 16 is now eligible to get vaccinated and providers have the steady supply of vaccine they need to get it to people who want it. What I hope is that more Pennsylvanians will decide to protect themselves and their loved ones from COVID-19 virus by getting vaccinated.
The safety procedures built into the vaccination process are working and should instill confidence in safety and effectiveness of available COVID-19 vaccines. I urge individuals who have appointments scheduled to receive a Pfizer or Moderna vaccination to keep those appointments.
