Lily doesn’t know it but she has life-threatening #sepsis. Sepsis is the body’s overreaction to an infection where the immune system attacks its own organs. It can arise from any infection, in Lily’s case from a wound on her arm.

On @Hollyoaks Lily says “I think I’m just getting a cold or something.” Sepsis in its early stages can seem like another illness such as flu. If you have an infection and feel more unwell than before, seek medical help urgently and Just Ask: Could it be sepsis?

Although Lily's case of #sepsis from a cut or graze only represents about 10% of incidences, her story shows that sepsis can affect anyone, even the fit and healthy.
