I'll even go one step further and say that social media is the place for prediction markets and predictions to merge.

And because prediction markets work similarly to sports betting, where odds can change based on the bets of other bettors on a certain outcome, asymmetric opportunities are created.

Not only are event bets less efficient from a prediction perspective, as the market is less mature, but it has also attracted tons of capital from bettors with near-zero knowledge in the field they are betting on.

So the theory becomes simple.

What if you could find your edge using social media to find individuals who tend to be more 'right' in a specific field than the majority?

Every day, people come to platforms, share their thoughts and predictions, and nothing happens to this.

But if you're able to find the right people, this public information is suddenly worth billions, allowing you to gain an edge in every field and capitalize on it by taking advantage of prediction data.

You can turn yourself into the casino, with the only one that knows the truest odds a prediction market could have, and arbitrage trading the difference.

This does two things:

2️⃣ You make odds more 'fair' for every other bettor, making it harder for insiders to profit and ensuring bettors get the odds they deserve for every bet they make.

This means you are making a positive impact on betting markets as a whole; platforms would love to have you.

Because not only do you pay them fees for betting, but you also drive more users to their platform who want to capture the best odds for their predictions, no matter if they'll be right or wrong in the end.

In last week's development update from Torus, they implemented their recursive memory schema specialization, which allows the swarm to specialize in multiple specific domains simultaneously, staying general with a unified memory.

To put it in simpler terms, the swarm can now specialize in a specific field without compromising its unified memory, which allows Torus to task agents to specific fields as well.

This is a huge update that has clearly been underestimated by investors, as no reaction was shown when this update was announced. $TORUS feels incredibly undervalued to me because of this fact.

Why Torus can seem hard to grasp, and why that is also exactly where it's biggest power comes from ♓️

let me explain in simple terms:

The Torus system is highly abstract, actually, i believe it is the most abstract system possible in the field of swarms. the core thesis.

what does abstract mean? that it's just the pattern without the details. the concrete, the specific can be fitted into the abstract pattern, and the pattern just makes it work.

an abstract system is the enabler of any specific system that fits within the pattern of the abstract system. an abstract system is not a solution, but a solution generator.

for instance, neural networks are an abstract system, and you apply it to specific cases of data and objectives and it generates the solution for you. its a fundamental enabler, like a platform instead of a specific product.

thats what we're doing with the prediction swarm, its a specific practical use case that is enabled by the abstract Torus system. that makes it easier for people to understand what the abstract system enables, which is one of the goals we have with it.

so what pattern does the abstract Torus system represent? the foundational mechanics of what makes multi-agent cooperation work, the decentralized formation and optimization of pathways, channels for the flows of authority (access / control) and energy (tokens). power and money.

This enables the organic formation of complex and sophisticated swarm structure that is cohesively aligned, meaning they're all moving into the same direction and specialize to complement one another to get there quicker.

Alignment and Specialization is what effective organization in the world is about, and it's no different for agent swarms.

The system enables the emergent formation of a "optimal" organizational structure, where there is no limitation to what is specialized on and what is competed on.

where the fundamental dynamics that create prosperity in the economy can move to every inch of the swarm's problem space. where any problem (or sub-problem) that exists anywhere in the swarm can be solved by any agent or sub-swarm with any method.

basically, minimize the friction for competency and agency to be channeled through the swarm towards goals.

Remove the barrier between competency and problems, because a problem is an opportunity for the one capable of solving it.

just the abstract system alone? useless. can't do anything. like uber without drivers. but as soon as agents start to work within it, it empowers them to create more value than what they could do alone.
