Fill the kettle with water and add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Boil, soak for 30 min and rinse.
After descaling always boil and discard fresh water one or two times before using again.
Tip: Avoid leaving water in the kettle.

Wipe the door with water and a few drops of dish soap without oversaturating the wood.
Stubborn stains or grease can be treated with a mixture of water and white vinegar.
Wipe the door handles, locks and hinges, too.

Fill the bathtub with lukewarm water and a little bit of mild detergent and place the lamp shade inside

How to Wash Shower Curtains

Pop it in the washing machine with a towel on a gentle setting.
Alternatively, soak in the bath with laundry detergent and scrub with a brush.
For mouldy stains add baking soda during wash cycle. Vinegar during the rinse cycle will add sparkle.

How to clean a mattress.
Vacuum it first.
Clean any stains with dilluted dish soap.
Mix 2 cups of water, 1/2 cup of white vinegar, 1/4 cup of alcohol and 10 drops of tee tree oil and spray lightly. Let it sit for 5 minutes and pat dry with a clean towel.
Leave to airdry.

How to properly hang clothes
Use non-slip hangers to keep the shape of clothes and avoid wire hangers.
Button the top buttons of shirts and insert hangers from below necklines.
Trousers can be folded and hanged over the bar of the hanger.

How to remove a fish odour from the fridge

Wipe all interior surfaces with a solution of one litre warm water, a quarter of a cup baking soda and a few drops of dish soap.
After that you can apply a few drops of vanilla extract which will combat any lingering smells.

How to clean a microwave with lemon
Fill a bowl halfway with water, place a lemon cut in 4 slices and microwave on full power for 5 minutes. Let it stay with the door closed for another 5 minutes.
Remove the bowl and wipe the interior with a damp cloth, then with a dry cloth.

How to clean kitchen cabinet knobs
To clean these on a regular basis spray with water and vinegar and wipe with a soft cloth.
For a deeper clean remove the knobs and soak them in warm water, vinegar and a drop of dish soap. Leave for half an hour and rinse with warm water.

How to clean skylights
Mix a few drops of mild dish soap in a bucket of warm water. Soak a soft sponge and scrub the glass.
Rinse the skylight thoroughly. Remove excess water with a squeegee.
Finally, wipe the glass with clean soft cloths working in one direction only.

How to clean cloudy glasses

Mix one cup water with 2 tablespoons white vinegar and spray the glasses with the solution. The vinegar will break down any cloudiness and will add sparkle to the glasses.
Wash with warm water and dry them straight away with a microfibre cloth.

Dust the mirror first.
Spray with glass cleaner and wipe top to bottom with a clean microfibre cloth.
Then dry and buff the surface with a dry soft cloth using up-and-down or circular motions.

How to wash gym clothes
Generally, use warm or cold settings on the washing machine and detergents for delicate fabrics. Conditioner is fine.
The clothes should be turned inside out and air dried or tumble dried on low temperature if the instruction on the label allow it.
