@AutSciPerson I was lucky enough to have been flagged and treated for dyspraxia at 7 years old, but never received a diagnosis due to uncertainty about adhd at that age. It wasn't followed up, so now saving money to try to get re-tested at age 24.
@chloepascual@hels I had these for years until going onto contraception, and I am only just learning what the reaction was called after years of doctors just brushing me off. Thank you!
@erinbiba@redscribe I love this so much! Tangentially related, here’s a brilliant short story by @annaleen, about a robot and a crow: https://t.co/nFSz0zek0U
@rosiemay_r I had a similar experience in the UK with a reassessment costing a little over £200. I can understand the need for a it, but I could never afford it as a student and so never got it done unfortunately
@nameshiv One grandmother measures a lot in tablespoons (1 HEAPED tbsp flour or 1 LEVEL tbsp sugar = 1 ounce (~25g). Surprising accurate).
The other grandmother left out all oven temps/bake times.
@noahsmark@nameshiv Ah my family does that too, but I was taught 1 HEAPED tbsp flour and 1 LEVEL tbsp sugar both weigh 1 ounce (~25g?). Tried it baking today and it was pretty accurate. Hope this helps someone! 😅
@ArulaRatnakar Oh man, same here! It's rough.
The advice on this thread is really helpful thanks for starting it 😊 I know it's not alot but I have a list of qualifications and skills to try to gain in the coming year. Hopefully they'll keep me sane and add some feathers to my cap ✨
@Veeveebee1@SquigglyVolcano@fakehistoryhunt@NatGeo Yury Yudin (the guy who had to turn back) speculates that they were slightly off course and so decided to pitch the tent 1.5km from the original route to save the altitude they had gained- please take this with a pinch of salt though! https://t.co/JLGDcM9Ck8
@meghaam_ Its interesting, but I think there's still a few holes in the theory. Primarily, the 3 bodies showing this trauma were found further away from camp and in the other victims' clothing. Suggesting they were likely survivors of whatever happened at the camp originally.
