Ntungamo Medical Camp.

It was an honour to join my mentor @KKariisa at the health camp for the Mama Kariisa Maternity Ward in Ntungamo. Seeing the community turn up for health care services like family planning and screenings is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we share a common vision for progress.

Individual effort isn't enough; improving health outcomes in Uganda requires the private sector, the government, and well-wishers working side by side.

While we’ve made progress, our maternal mortality rate still stands at 189 deaths per 100,000 live births. In regions like Western Uganda, the gap in consistent antenatal care and nutrition is a challenge we must face head-on; access to these services shouldn't be a luxury; it's a right. 

This mission sits at the core of Reach A Hand. We believe that by providing health services and education, we give every mother and young person a fair shot at a healthy life.

I am proud to join hands with my mentor in yet another shared passion: improving the health and well-being of young mothers and babies at the community level.

Yesterday I was in Rubaare, Ntungamo - and the energy was something else.

The Rotary Club of @Kigo7LakesGolf & the Kariisa Family brought a full Mega Medical Camp to Rubaare Health Centre IV. Cancer screening. HIV testing. Eye care. Dental. Immunization. Blood donation. All FREE.

Today, we commission the Mama Kariisa Maternity Ward. Because proper investment is not just talk, but showing up where it matters most.
