Last thing I will say. Golf is a game of integrity. Bryson is swearing he did not improve his swing and without proof they have to trust his word. For the R&A to assess a penalty with no real proof within 30 minutes is an embarrassment and goes against the very tradition and ethos of the game. Would’ve never guessed they would do this.
Not gonna give this Bryson penalty more airtime after this tweet. This was targeted. Corruption runs deep in #golf & it’s all part of the reason I wanted all this sh*t blown TF up & still do. At best it’s a bad look. At worst corruption. Who called this in? Transparency. @TheOpen
The R&A is making a mockery of the Open. I think it's ridiculous that they can go back in time. I don't understand what the whole point of bringing him back to the spot is. They had already made up their mind, and it was to screw Bryson.
In my opinion, with the depth of field issues with TV cameras and no definitive camera angles of his swing path, there cannot be conclusive video evidence that Bryson improved his lie or swing path. In cases like this the benefit of doubt should go to the player. I don't like this decision.
The British Open doesn’t deserve to be classified as a Major Championship.
The R&A is an abomination to the entire sport.
Bryson DeChambeau is getting screwed.
Bryson’s agent is saying Bryson is 100 percent serious that he is not sure he will play tomorrow. Plans to make the decision in the morning. “He’s a lot of things. He’s not a cheater.”
Bryson is entirely justified for losing his mind right now. If someone had a problem with it they should’ve came to him when it happened. Forcing him to go back out there and replay the scenario while also showing it all on broadcast is ridiculous.
If every shot isn’t televised or otherwise reviewable by the public, you simply cannot allow fans to call in penalties.
The R&A better have a smoking gun here otherwise we are about to make January 6th look like a boy scout jamboree. That I can tell you.
