Murphy tracking Gvardiol back does not make it a 5 at the back. Those screenshots don't show settled attacking play, where NUFC were defending the box.

@sjfunn @EBL2017 @TalkinTactics It absolutely is the case that joelinton has dropped into the defensive line all season. That's gone on longer than this season, in fact. The point is, Newcastle very much played a 433 against city. So his thread is based on a false premise.

Then the front three. The press was slow and allowed man city to play through it. First goal came from an error
