We're looking to get more feedback from #Entomologists, and those studying #Entomology, about our newest native bee nursery design. Would you be interested in receiving one to evaluate and give us your thoughts? Weβd greatly appreciate it! Please DM us for arrangements. πππ
The redbuds are coming alive! πΈπ
They're not only beautiful, they're an excellent pollen source for those early spring bees. And the buds are really tasty too! Just be sure to leave some for the bees π

π DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE? π
It's warming up and bees are starting to express themselves. This particular bee, like MOST bees, nests in the ground, which is why it's SO IMPORTANT to have spots of bare earth in your yard!

Here's a vicious cycle for ya: Wild bees are scarce. Farmers raise honeybees because they need pollinators. Honeybees are aggressive and territorial.
That's why there are honeybees buzzing around my apple trees instead of orchard mason bees.
Support native species!
πΈπ Dan caught me doing my #wildflower dance!
This dance is both fun AND practical. When sowing wildflower seeds, you don't want to cover them up. It's better to press them into the ground by walking (boring) or dancing (YES) on them.

Time to plant spring veggies!! While you're at it, plant some flowers nearby to attract pollinators.
And, of course, have a fresh Beestra ready to greet them π

π± How are your gardens coming along?
This year I'm focusing on growing lots of flowers, herbs, and veggies. These plants just happen to be some of bees' favorites. Keep your Beestras close by to maximize pollinating power!

Behold the Little Sac River Monster ("Bessie"), the Ozarkian cousin of the Loch Ness monster. She's much perkier nowadays after languishing for years in murky, polluted water. We planted lots of trees to clean up the river and it gets nicer every day. We do it for you Bessie!

This ash tree is showing signs of blonding, which means that emerald ash borers have arrived on our tree farm.
This is why we must support native plants and insects! Invasive species destroy the delicate balance of nature.

Sometimes Bingo hides under chairs when he gets scared.
Things that scare Bingo: plastic bags, paper bags, fireworks, and the fact that pollinators worldwide are disappearing. Let's do what we can to ease his fears! π
