Another jam-packed week at Beech Hyde. Whole school pancake race, Yr 5 maths challenge, Yr 1/2 trip to Hertford Museum, netball tournament, dance festival plus exciting lessons across the curriculum and lots of hard working children!

Beech Hyde pupils have worked hard on the sports field as well as in the classroom this week. The Rapid Fire Cricket team came 2nd in the St Albans district and both netball and football teams secured victories this week.

It has been a busy week back after half term! Nursery and Reception went around the world, Yr 1 and 2 enjoyed French, Yr 3 started researching ancient Egypt, Yr 4 investigated slinkies in science, Yr 5 have written about polar bears and Yr 6 have worked hard on ratio in maths!

Another jam packed week at Beech Hyde: storytelling week, the Beech Hyde writing festival, band practise with new instruments, Nursery celebrated Chinese new year, Yr 6 took part in the French spelling bee and all classes produced some super work!

Thank you to Rotary in Harpenden for sharing pictures of children in the Ukraine opening Christmas presents from the boxes we helped to fill. Developing a community spirit and helping others is very important to us.

It was certainly a busy last week of term, full of Christmas fun! Santa dash, EYFS nativity, Christmas jumper day, Christmas lunch, class parties with a special visit from Santa and amazing KS2 performances at our Christmas sharing assembly. Wow!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas: the KS1 performance of ‘Everyone Loves A Baby’, a trip to the pantomime, an EYFS pantomime workshop and the WCG Community Singalong. There’s lots more to come next week!
