NVIDIA just helped put predicted 3D protein structures for 2,800+ viruses into the open AlphaFold database.

The project is BioNeMo (Nvidia's biology AI platform) plus DeepMind plus EMBL, and it's aimed at getting ready for the next pandemic before it starts. AlphaFold DB is now past 260 million predictions.

- Japanese chemicals and DUV tools
- US EDA software
- Korean HBM memory

Framing Taiwan as a key economic component in US supply chains and as a trade partner in the NSS 2025, while not mentioning it once in the military context of the NDS 2026 where it has been specifically referenced previously, sends a pretty terrible revised strategic signal.

This means it remains far behind US companies like Nvidia and loses its outright leverage over supply. Presumably why there are the enforced pinch points in China right now as Beijing makes its domestic fabs dig in, refusing to allow uptake of H200 etc. chips.
