@shagbark_hick According to Oswald Spengler (whose works I recommend) America is not a part of western civilization, it is a colonial outpost experiencing a “pseudomorphosis”, or wave of influence of the decadent western Civ. (On its way out ) which gives impulse to our civilization yet to come

@shagbark_hick I don’t understand adults who throw around the word just. “If we all just” when have we ever all just anythinged? It betrays a complete refusal to confront the cussedness of human behavior.

@shagbark_hick No, they probably aren’t. But given that most activities out there involve passive consumption-or the operation of machines without agency- having a hobby that involves the active management of living systems promotes a less degenerate worldview

@shagbark_hick Growing your own vegetables is cheap, easy and a better way to spend your time than watching tv or using social media. I agree about obsessing over prestige packaged goods though
